Sub:    Federal Govt. Advertisements

Dear Sirs,

We have to inform you that in pursuance to the decision of the Executive Committee meeting held on April 24, 2010, the APNS has issued a notice to the Principal Information Officer (PIO), Government of Pakistan to clear the persistent claims of member publications / advertising agencies latest by 5:00 p.m. on April 29, 2010 without any further notice, failing which,  the APNS will be constrained to suspend all Federal Government  advertisements in member publications routed directly  through the PID or indirectly through the Federal Govt. organizations / departments.

The Executive Committee of the APNS at the above meeting held on April 24, 2010 noted with concern that despite assurances minuted diligently by the Information Ministry, the said dues have not yet been cleared. We are waiting for the response to our notice.

We hereby advise our member publications in their own interest that they should  not  book any Federal Government advertisement for their issues for April 30 and  the dates thereafter in the wake of the above notice as  suspension of Federal government advertisements may be effected on April 29, 2010. However, the APNS will inform the member publications about its final decision in the matter.
